August 26, 2024
Award-wining creator, writer, actress, comedian and producer, Shimmy Isaacs, will be joining the Good Hope FM Campus Presenter Search judging panel in helping to decide which young talent gets a golden
ticket start in the world of radio.
Widely regarded as one of South Africa’s most talented bilingual actresses and funniest female comedians, Shimmy is a perfect match for the search for the next hottest on-air talent to move in behind the mic at Cape Town’s Original.
Shimmy Isaacs obtained Honours Degree from AFDA, later specialising in a performance technique called “THE NEED” at the Black Nexxus School of Performance in New York City. She later returned to South Africa and took up the position of Lecturer in the Acting Department at AFDA Cape Town. She also won the Best of Ikwezi Award in 2009 for her production “Dens Wit Me” a Cape Flats Musical
Comedy that she produced, co-wrote and performs in. The production went on to be performed at the Suid-Ooster Fees at the Artscape Theatre, as well as recent Women’s Month celebrations.
In addition to her impressive array of live shows, tours, international festivals, productions and TV appearances, Shimmy also recently produced “Mince jou hare” – her own show on Showmax.
And she’s bound to have a TOUGH job, with some of SA’s finest young talent making it through the ranks.
