September 9, 2025
It’s that time of year, when the Mother City sun lingers a little longer, buds pop open, and Good Hope FM, Cape Town’s Original, gives you a lineup shake-up to match the city’s spring sparkle. The station’s turning up the warmth and the vibe just in time to chase off winter’s chill and kick off Silly Season in style!
Here’s what’s cooking from this September:
Cape Town’s drivetime radio favourite, The Great Drive, airing weekdays from 15h00 to 18h00, will now be co-hosted by Kyeezi and Celest Anthony, with Lorenzo
Darries manning the sport desk and Jason Abels in the producer’s seat and on the DJ decks.
Rinaldo Felaar will be hosting a brand-new early breakfast show, The Pre-Heat,from 05h00 to 06h00 on weekdays – making sure that your day is primed with all the
biggest breaking news and all the right tunes.
Noni Radebe will be taking Noni but Nice to a prime evening slot between 18h00 and 21h00, Monday to Thursday – setting the tone to wind down after a productive
day with some cool chats and easy beats.
The weekends will enjoy even more spice, with Mitchells Plain original and massive Mother City favourite, Tara-Lee joining Good Hope FM as newsreader for both
The Hit 30 with Danilo Acquisto between 9h00 and 12h00 and The Matinee with Garth B between 12h00 and 15h00 on Saturdays. She’s an absolute firecracker,
known for her larger than life, bubbly personality, infectious laugh and nothing-shortof-Google-esque sport knowledge and is bound to bring an energy to the show that is
so good, it should be illegal.
Rinaldo will also be hitting the airwaves on Saturdays between 15h00 and 18h00 with Social Saturdaze – as show guaranteed to get you settled in for what could be
anything form a very chilled, to an EPIC partying Saturday night.
It’s a line-up shuffle geared towards maximum entertainment, maximum resonance with its audience and maximum reach and impact for partners.
Masi Mdingane, Business Manager for Good Hope FM and 5FM, says, “At Good Hope FM, we’ve been Cape Town’s Original and favourite for six decades – always
bringing the vibe, never resting, always fine-tuning, always evolving. This spring, we’re turning up the freshness, leaning into bold chemistry and setting a brand-new
