“YOUR BLANKET AND NON-PERISHABLE FOOD COULD SAVE A LIFE THIS WINTER” GOOD HOPE FM’S ‘KEEP CAPE TOWN WARM’ WITH COMMUNITY CHEST

Good Hope FM, Cape Town’s Original, set out to keep those out in the bitter cold warm – possibly even saving lives – this winter with the launch of its 2023 ‘Keep Cape Town Warm’ campaign.

Capetonians have united in passionate support of the campaign over the course of 14 years since its launch – donating thousands of blankets and tons of food to one of the biggest winter outreach projects in the Mother City. This year’s campaign will run throughout May and June, distributing blankets and nonperishable food to where it’s needed most via the station’s trusted partner, Community Chest, and distributions will be made throughout the campaign to make sure it reaches those in need on time to protect them against the winter chill.

“Thousands of people in need don’t have the privilege of a warm bed, hot running water or even a shelter against the elements this winter,” says Good Hope FM’s Programme Manager, Gerard Muller, “The 5 minutes you take and the couple of rands you spend on a blanket or non-perishable food does more than just keep someone warm or feed them… it could realistically save a life.”

For 2023’s Good Hope FM Keep Cape Town Warm campaign, there are various ways in which the public can help:

– Dropping off new blankets and non-perishable food at the Good Hope FM
Studios, located at 209 Beach Road, Sea Point before 30 June 2023.- Dropping off blankets and non-perishable food at one of the station’s live
broadcasts, between 06h00 and 09h00 on the following dates:
