“SAVING LIVES STARTS HERE” – DO YOUR BIT TO KEEP CAPE TOWN WARM WITH BLANKETS AND NON-PERISHABLE FOOD.
May 5, 2024
Good Hope FM, Cape Town’s Original, along with Community Chest and HomeChoice, are on a mission to get as many blankets and non-perishable food items to those in desperate need this winter with ‘Keep Cape Town Warm’ – #GoodHopeFMKCTW24.
For the past 15 years, Capetonians have been passionately rallying behind this phenomenal cause, donating blankets and non-perishable food items, helping those out in the bitter cold and quite literally saving lives.
This year’s campaign will run throughout May and June, with weekly handovers – handled by Community Chest – to ensure that aid reaches those in need on time to protect them against the winter chill. Everyone is encouraged to help by making a cash donation via the trusted online Community Chest donation portal, by dropping off new blankets and non-perishable food at the Good Hope FM Studios, located at 209 Beach Road, Sea Point, or at any one of the following outside broadcasts, where Good Hope FM’s presenters will be there to meet you:

We are absolutely committed to assisting communities who are in dire need and making a practical difference across our listener base, especially during the winter chill where too many are left without even the most basic necessities. We strongly encourage the people of Cape Town, our business partners and the business community at large to jump in and do whatever they can to help.”
Community Chest’s Interim CEO Peter Heeger commented, “Community Chest is thrilled to be associated with Keep Cape Town Warm. This campaign, which has been running for more than 30 years, serves as a ray of hope for vulnerable and underprivileged people in our city. We know the conditions that the people of Cape Town endure during the harsh winter months, and we continue to work to eradicate poverty through our programmes and projects. Keep Cape Town Warm is a highlight in our calendar, as it allows ordinary citizens to show that they care. We appeal to all Capetonians to again support this wonderful initiative, and we challenge businesses to get involved by both giving and collecting among their staff and then doing drop-offs at the nearest Good Hope FM outside broadcast.”
Updates on the progress of the campaign will be aired daily on Good Hope FM.
