{"id":4594,"date":"2023-06-05T13:50:55","date_gmt":"2023-06-05T11:50:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.goodhopefm.co.za\/goodhopefm\/?p=4594"},"modified":"2023-06-05T13:50:55","modified_gmt":"2023-06-05T11:50:55","slug":"your-blanket-and-non-perishable-food-could-save-a-life-this-winter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.goodhopefm.co.za\/goodhopefm\/your-blanket-and-non-perishable-food-could-save-a-life-this-winter\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cYOUR BLANKET AND NON-PERISHABLE FOOD COULD SAVE A LIFE THIS WINTER\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good Hope FM, Cape Town\u2019s Original, set out to keep those out in the bitter cold warm \u2013 possibly even saving lives \u2013 this winter with the launch of its 2023 \u2018Keep Cape Town Warm\u2019 campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Capetonians have united in passionate support of the campaign over the course of 14 years since its launch \u2013 donating thousands of blankets and tons of food to one of the biggest winter outreach projects in the Mother City.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s campaign will run throughout May and June, distributing blankets and non-perishable food to where it\u2019s needed most via the station\u2019s trusted partner, Community Chest, and distributions will be made throughout the campaign to make sure it reaches those in need on time to protect them against the winter chill.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThousands of people in need don\u2019t have the privilege of a warm bed, hot running water or even a shelter against the elements this winter,\u201d says Good Hope FM\u2019s Programme Manager, Gerard Muller, \u201cThe 5 minutes you take and the couple of rands you spend on a blanket or non-perishable food does more than just keep someone warm or feed them\u2026 it could realistically save a life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For 2023\u2019s Good Hope FM Keep Cape Town Warm campaign, there are various ways in which the public can help:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Dropping off new blankets and non-perishable food at the Good Hope FM Studios, located at 209 Beach Road, Sea Point before 30 June 2023.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Dropping off blankets and non-perishable food at one of the station\u2019s live broadcasts, between 06h00 and 09h00 on the following dates:<\/p>\n<p>31 May June &#8211; Tuscany Glen Primary, 18 Viking Street, Tuscany Glen, Eersteriver<\/p>\n<p>o 7 June &#8211; Curro Sundown, Corner Sandown Road and Discovery Drive<\/p>\n<p>o 14 June &#8211; Merrydale Avenue, Lentegeur, Mitchells Plain<\/p>\n<p>o 21 June &#8211; Labiance Primary, 378 Alliance Street \u2013 Bellville<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Making a payment via SnapScan at the above outside broadcasts.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Making a monetary donation via the Community Chest website<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood Hope FM is about way more than just the hits, the freshest news, sport, entertainment and amazing events. We have the privilege of connecting with the community in which we operate on a daily basis and, in doing so, become intimately aware of the significant challenges faced by some of its members, especially in winter.
