Suga Loves Company!

Morning Sunshines!
It really is no fun bouncing alone so thanks for tuning in again today to check out the show.
Today, on Woman On Top, we featured an amazing female talent in the form of bassist and singer Meshell Ndegeocello.  She is an example of the musos who come from another time and as a woman in the music businessshe has broken boundaries.  Leela James is another example of a brilliant singer who laments the attitude and lyric choices of some of the female artists who have come up in recent months.
The other day, I received an email from a mother who was concerned about the lyrical content of some of the offerings from female artists.  As much as I sometimes feel disappointed that my sisters don’t hold themselves in high enough regard to have positive and uplifting lyrics, I also think its unfair to have the opinion that young kids will be unduly influenced.  This is another tick in the parental control box.  That’s what your job as parents entail.
Music is my life, I don’t think I will be able to survive without it.….

Tune in again tomorrow for more.  Let me know what your comments are.  I look forward to hearing it.

Be peaceful
Love Each Other
Suga

MORNINGS....

Okay WOAH, This website is absolutely AMAZING!!!! LOve the fact that its linked to facebook,
I think i am going to become hooked to this website by the end of today.

On the topic about the mom and the lyrical content of some of the offerings from female artists. I agree, it is unfair to have the opinion that young kids will be unduly influenced because I am also somebody who listens to music more than the average person, music is one thing that keeps me going BUT I wil not subject myself or let myself be influenced by the the type of music which parents and myself regard to as negetive or sexual lyrics. I understand where that mother is coming from and it is only natural for her to be concerned but I honestly dont think that by listening to such type of music will guarantee that I will be influenced by it. I have been listening to music practically all my life and I wasnt influenced by any "negative type songs" from male or female artist

Hi, I just want you to know that I went to a WOOLWORTHS interview now recently and they said it was a job for HR Graduates, but they mislead me in the advertisement. They said that the person that gets the jobs should go to work at 4 in the morning(work shifts) and work in cold conditions and work with the other employees. Not to be racist but there was three people that interviewed me and they were two African( a male and female ) and a white lady. The white lady just didn't appreciate my honesty and therefore she ruled in the interview. So she never had the slightest interest in me at all. I tried a little exercise with them, which worked and I asked them questions and I involved them in my little exercise and they asked me how can Woolworths gain market share? And I had them all talking in no time, but then the white lady told me that you don't ask questions in an interview, which I "basically" knew before the time. But then she said later our next interviewee is here, just to tell me that I have no interest in you. The moment she closed the door she said out aloud that,"She basically failed the interview." I never give out a lot of ideas or information in an interview, because I wait to see if the company really appreciates my honesty. I study the habits of consumers and I know what their likes and dislikes are, so Woolworths just lost out. I am moslem and when I told them that I couldn't find a scarf in their store the white lady covered up for the company and she said,"we do sell those kind of scarf's" It was just an idea and she was lied. She couldn't even tell her own brand, because I was wearing a shirt, pants and a pair of shoes from woolworths. But when I told them that people are brand loyal they saw me as if I missed the point of the woolworths moto and that was that they stand for making a difference and they sell things that are different to their competitors. But anyways be careful when you go for interviews because I have gone to plenty and they turn out to be sales or a scam. The white lady also didn't have faith in the little retail stores when one of her colleagues asked me who are our competitors and I mentioned an Islamic store. She just had a funny look on her face and she asked me what do they sell? She doesn't understand that their is a need for Islamic stores also because it serves the modern islamic women in society. Again not too be racist or anything, just to make a point. They think that Woolworths is high and might but there are other stores that also make more profits than them and serve a specific need, for example, Naartjie(the children's store, Queenspark,EDCON,this is but to name a few. So next time you go into woolworths you'll know how they think , when it comes to Kellogs and other brands.

Anonymous Fri, 19 Feb 19:33 Report Abuse

hi Sugar, you know I have also been to a lot of interviews and you know what, I love woolworths and especially their food. I never knew how harsh an interview can get especially with a brand such as woolworhs. I am disgusted by the fact that, that woman closed the door behind that interviewee and said that she basically failed the interview. If I were her I would have gone back in the room and give her a piece of mind. That is arrogance. And just to think that people at woolworths are suppose to be professional, more like childish and ignorant. You go girl, I never thought of anyone so smart that could actually play dumb in an interview and still get out alive. Those interviewers need to be taught a lesson. I am also brand loyal and you know what I saw woolworths in Kenilworth selling Coca Cola. What has happened to the woolworths exclusive brand. Maybe tomorrow they will remove the items off their shelves just to show that they stand for woolworths. Sad hey. As a customer I shop everywhere and I respect every business no matter how others grade them. Shame that poor woman must have felt really insulted.
