Good Hope FM and Nigel Pierce's Toy Toy campaign

Good Hope FM wants your toys for underprivileged children this November!

As store windows start displaying Christmas decorations it is time to realise that there will be children that might not be able to join in the cheer of the festive season. To support those in need Good Hope FM’s Nigel Pierce is once more collecting toys for underprivileged children, to distribute to the less fortunate during the Christmas season in the Mother city.

For the sixth year running, Good Hope FM and Nigel Pierce’s Toy Toy campaign is back, with The Nigel Pierce Show (Mon-Fri; 09:00 – 12:00) broadcasting live from the offices of various corporates across Cape Town from Tuesday, the 1st of November. Toy Toy is encouraging employees from these companies to donate new or used (but not damaged) toys - to spread some cheer during the festive season to those kids that are less fortunate.

“The Good Hope FM Nigel Pierce Toy Toy campaign is one of my favourite projects because it brings smiles to everyone involved in this initiative from the staff at Good Hope FM, the company employees, the parents and more importantly the kids. Sharing is caring.” says Pierce.

With the annual campaign raising over R1million and over a 1000 crates of toys throughout the past 5 years, the radio station is hoping the city will once again open their hearts and prove why Good Hope FM is all about generosity, caring and connecting with those less privileged in Cape Town.

Meegan Kieffer, Good Hope FM marketing manager adds that “we are inspired every year by the tremendous spirit of Capetonians, how they get together and help to support the kids, and bring festive cheer to their lives.  This is not possible without the generosity of our listeners and the corporates we visit”.

During the first two weeks of November, Nigel Pierce and The Nigel Pierce Show news reader, Sandra Rosenberg, will broadcast live from a number of Cape Town businesses every weekday from 09:00 to 12:00, encouraging employees of those businesses and members of the general public to bring toys to the various broadcast points.

Good Hope FM encourages all Capetonians to be generous and to spare a thought for those children who will not be able to have a joyous festive season without their kind donations. Good Hope FM – Connecting Cape Town.
