Check out a fellow female deejay on my show this Friday - DJ Kleo! Leonie Avenant (Kleo) studied Music Technology and Vocal Training at the London Centre of Contemporary Music - BTEC HND (2005 - UK). She was taught by various well-known Producers, Studio Engineers and Musicians such as Nick Hunt, Caspar Kedros, Toby Baker and Pete Zeldman. She also studied singing at the University of Stellenbosch (1997 – 1998). She has been involved in many musical projects such as: Cast Member and Soul Girl: Jesus Christ Superstar, Wycombe Swan Theatre, UK. Cast Member: Tribute to Tim Rice, Night of 1000 Voices, Royal Albert Hall, London. Cast Member: Carnival Messiah, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds. Cast Member: KEANE Music Video, 'Everybodys Changing'. Band Member of Sunsoma (an Indie Rock Band – signed with Oneill’s Europe Surf DVD). She played the keyboard and did Backing Vocals at many exciting venues all over London and the UK. Since 2007 she has been actively involved, composing and performing dance / house music in the electronic collaboration, ZeeQ. They have performed at venues such as the V&A Waterfront, La Med, FTV, MCQP 2009 and Ku de ta.
