Shows & DJs

On Air: Sunday: 18:00 - 22:00

Bradley Knight

About me:

Truth be told, I never planned on becoming a radio DJ. In fact, at high school, my teachers and classmates would’ve voted me the least-likely to become a radio personality, especially at Good Hope Fm! Weirder things have happened!

After taking an extended GAP year, I got introduced to radio at University and with that, all my career plans changed in a flash!

I auditioned, got the gig and eventually went on to ‘cut my teeth’ in radio at a community station called C-Flat Radio in Ottery in the 90’s. Years later I landed my first show at Good Hope Fm as a nightshift DJ.

I’m also a Film School graduate from Cityvasity Film School and have an enduring passion for myth-busting documentaries. Having said that, I plan on shooting my own ‘doccie’ one day, so watch this space!

I work as a Digital Media Developer by day, and moonlight as a caped super-hero by night. Just kidding, I only do that on Sunday evenings after my show J

I’m also finishing my degree part-time at UWC and currently completing my majors in English and Psychology. A crazy combo! J

Basically, I’m a pretty regular guy who was fortunate enough to get a chance to do what he loves. I’m married to the girl of my dreams and as a self-confessed beach bum, I love traveling to any place that has beautiful beaches, locally or across the waters.

To find out more about me, tune in, check my blogs or add me as a friend on Facebook.

Catch you online or on the air on Sundays at 6pm.

About my show:

The Sunset Smoothie is the perfect way to wrap up a hectic Cape Town weekend, providing the ideal soundtrack to our Mother City’s jaw-dropping sunsets.

Starting at 6pm, the show features a smooth blend of old school tunes and love songs, dedicating four solid hours to bidding your weekend a fond farewell.

At 6:40pm, I check out the coming week’s weather so that you know how to much gel, silicone and mousse to use after you’ve GHD’d your harriets. We all know that Cape-Town-hair and water do not mix, so that the latest readings from the  mince-meter Richter scale is absolutely crucial for some of us, if you know what I mean J

At 7:30pm, I set aside two hours for Cape Town's ultimate love-junkies, featuring a smoldering mix of sunset slow jams, peppered with sms's, emails and Facebook messages from listeners madly in love and some looking for love. Warning: It gets pretty mushy up in here J

At 9:30pm, I wrap the show with an exclusive music feature called SanctiFUNKtified. It puts the FUNK into gospel music, connecting Cape Town to 30 minutes of contemporary R&B and Hip Hop-flavored Gospel Tunes from around the globe.

This music feature brings the city the latest and best in urban gospel with street-cred and also features some of the classics that have made their mark in mainstream radio. You’ve got hear it to believe it. It’s not uncommon to hear the phrase “Yor, is THAT gospel my bru?!”

So, with a little something for everyone, take some time out and cuddle up to your main squeeze. See your weekend out in style with the Sunset Smoothie every Sunday night at 6pm with me as I connect Cape Town’s love junkies.
