Keep Cape Town Educated

Date: Jul 6, 2020

As education is one of the critical areas most affected by the coronavirus lockdown, Good Hope FM has decided to team up with the Community Chest to Keep Cape Town Educated to support the future of our learners.

Early Childhood Development and its milestone achievements are the critical foundation upon which all future learning is built, but the uncertainty of the timing and safety of the back-to-school process adds to existing social and economic challenges in communities. Parents returning to work need additional childcare and unemployed parents are challenged in job seeking efforts. Keep Cape Town Educated aims to raise awareness and funds for books and reading, educational resources, online education, literacy workbooks, personal protective equipment (PPE), and health and safety interventions and “lockdown home learning packs” will be created for distribution to ECD centres, children’s homes and to hospitalized children.
