SABC Commercial Enterprises is looking for a Marketing Services Analyst in the Western Cape

POSITION          :        Marketing Services Analyst

DIVISION            :        Commercial Enterprises – Western Cape

 

Main purpose of the position

To synergise the efforts of the Business Intelligence Strategic Media unit nationally in order to provide Business strategic support in terms of intelligent information to Commercial Enterprises / Sales and Marketing and ensure that Sales revenue targets are delivered.

Key Performance Areas

  • Analyse and interpret national and international macro trends for Commercial Enterprises (political, economic, social, business, technological) in order to identify opportunities and threats
  • Analyse and interpret national and international market media trends for Commercial Enterprises in order to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy to eliminate / minimise threats and Commercial Enterprises weaknesses
  • Develop and implement tools/mechanism for use by the Sales Teams in revenue generation
  • Adhere to all Commercial Enterprises Media Strategy Department policies and procedures

                                              

Key responsibilities include:

  • Understanding the dynamics of the market (Media and clients)
  • Striving to understand consumer headspace and needs (Both in terms of product / service and brand) and the role of media in his/her lifestyle to interpret value to marketers
  • Developing and presenting media strategies reflective of communication strategies
  • Developing analysis and presentations with insights for SABC Commercial Enterprises to understand the audience profile and health of our channels.
  • Development of Digital only and multi-media revenue generation strategies, plans and proposals
  • Sourcing of eclectic illuminating information about marketers and consumers alike
  • Analysing and interpreting information to maximise sales opportunities for the Sales teams
  • Monitoring competitive media and spend activity, and delivering key learning, thus ensuring competitive media strategies
  • Scanning the media environment and commenting on developments
  • Facilitating brand choice workshops with the end result of providing media
    strategies that facilitate the value for money messaging to Marketers
  • Facilitating creative reviews to ensure that work meets the key elements of the media strategy and allows creative flexibility to the media
  • Providing strategic input in market intelligent workshops via competitive analysis and post campaign analysis on quarterly bases. This will ensure the brand is on target and help identify learning to ensure a competitive media placement advantage
  • Keeping up to date and implementing change, if necessary, regarding the media planning measurement tools, e.g. ES, TAMS, RAMS, TGI, ADEX, Digital measurement tools, etc.
  • To arrive at superior media strategies (The best mix for the task at hand), internally refine and develop methods to manage brainstorming in order to generate ideas with the team
  • Exploring innovative market intelligent workshops through leveraging brand initiatives
  • Looking for strategic approaches to enhancing media investment through alignment with Trade Marketing initiatives
  • Developing strong credible relationships with other key stakeholders (Sales Teams, Trade Marketing, Management, etc)
  • Post campaign evaluation

 

Requirements

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • A post graduate marketing / business management qualification will be an advantage
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in a Media Planning /Strategy / Market Research role
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of marketing, advertising sales and  the media planning / strategy environment
  • Ability to gather / source, analyse and interpret data / information 
  • Problem solving and decision making ability
  • Strategic orientated with the proven ability to develop and implement strategy 
  • Commercial orientation with good business acumen and understanding of macro and micro business environment 
  • Concern for excellence and results driven
  • Computer literate
  • Thorough knowledge of Industry Tools
