Camp-Out 2020 Line Up
Top South African female artists join the line-up for CapeNature’s Camp-Out with acclaimed musician Jimmy Nevis.
The biodiversity conservation agency will once again merge conservation tourism and top class entertainment in the form of a unique two-night outdoor musical camp-out experience. The event will be taking place from 28 February to 01 March 2020 in the majestic Cederberg Wilderness Area. CapeNature’s scenic Algeria campsite will host music fans for another unforgettable weekend with some of the most exciting acts in the South African music industry. The list includes Paxton, Rowlene, Dani Bagel and Acoustic Element
Paxton rose to fame in 2017, after winning the 13th season of Idols South Africa. She is the youngest South African female to win the title. Since the debut of her first single, “Demonstrate”, in November 2017, she has grown from strength to strength, including a notable collaboration with pop and R&B musician, Craig Lucas, on the duet “Smother”.
Rowlene, is a beautiful, vibrant singer/ songwriter from Elsies River, Cape Town. She has worked with the likes of Nasty C, Ricky Rick, BigStar Johnson, DJ Wobbly and many more.
No stranger to the event is the mesmerising Dani Bagel, who last year performed a solo ballad at the Camp-Out that had fans calling for more. This year they will receive their wish as she returns to wow campers with her popular radio hits.
Acoustic Element will also be making a return to the exciting event. The talented duo have an impressive repertoire and have entertained audiences at a wide range of events and festivals globally.
Paxton explains why she is looking forward to this particular event, “I remember seeing footage of the event that Jimmy posted on Instagram last year and I was so amazed that he could bring together the two things I appreciate most, music and nature. I knew I had to be there and when Jimmy asked me, I immediately said yes because the atmosphere is truly electric! You get to spend quality time with your friends and family under the stars with good music. Doesn’t get much better than that!”
CapeNature CEO Dr. Razeena Omar says supporting our local artists, in particular young women, given the current climate in our country is a must. “We are seeing more and more females taking up camping and solo travels. CapeNature strives to create enjoyable and safe experiences to make personal connections while accessing nature. The hope is that these artists will encourage people of all ages to spend more time in nature and discover a deep love for conserving the environment.”
The Camp-Out will be taking place from 28 February to 01 March 2020 and tickets are available for purchase via Quicket. Ticket prices range from R700 for a single plot sharing ticket (you will be allocated a plot) to share with 5 other people for 2 nights and R2680 for an entire plot for a group up to 6 people for 2 nights.
