Good Hope FM Mix DJ 2020 competition

Are you the next Martin Garrix, Diplo, or Grandmaster Ready D? Then this is your cue to flex on the decks.

Good Hope FM is looking for the Mother City’s next big mix DJ. If you think you’ve got what it takes to be the next big Hip Hop or Dance DJ, WeTransfer your 15 minute DJ MIX to competition@goodhopefm.co.za. After top contestants have impressed the judges, the top 3 will drop beats live on Doctors in the House.  The ultimate winner receives bragging rights as Good Hope FM’s hottest new mix DJ 2020 as well as headphones, laptop and a DJ controller valued at R50 000. 

So if you're a deck-head, be sure to submit your mix before midnight on Friday the 14th of February.  Should you get through to the next round you will be invited to mix live in front of a group of judges at the SABC Sea Point auditorium at a predetermined time allocated to you between 16:00 and 19:00 after the station has evaluated all the entries received. Failing to show up for this round should you be invited will have you disqualified for the competition.

Rules:

All standard Good Hope FM competition rules apply including the following ;

Entrants must be 18 years or older and in possession of a South African ID or passport

Entrants must be available to play live in front of the judges at the SABC auditorium in Sea Point for the second round of elimination.

The top 3 entrants selected from the play-offs will be invited to  play live at a Good Hope FM event hosted at a Cape Town based night club (venue to be confirmed at a later stage) 

Each entrant will be responsible for any travel costs/any other costs incurred to attend the second round play-offs and the final play offs.


 

Prize:

The overall winner wins headphones, a laptop and a DJ controller valued at R50 000.



 

Good Hope FM Management has made the decision to postpone the next round of playoffs of the  Good Hope FM Hottest Mix DJ Competition that was due to take place on 18 and 19 March 2020 due to the COVID -19 pandemic and the National State of Disaster announced on 16 March 2020 by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

 

We are in contact with all 40 contenders and will be in touch with each of them again later in the year to reschedule the next round in front of a panel of judges.  Exact dates will be determined once the State of Disaster is lifted and the spread of the Corona Virus is under control.
