SA’s Got Talent auditions in Jozi

After a hugely successful debut in 2009, SABC 2 has confirmed they will be hosting a second season of the talent search contest SA’s Got Talent. Auditions for the new show, which premieres on the channel on 16 September, will be in Joburg this weekend.

The full round of auditions take place as follows:

Johannesburg – 23rd, 24th, 25th July at The Focus Rooms, Sunninghill
Port Elizabeth – 29th July at the E.T.C. Conference Centre
Cape Town – 31st July; 1st August at the CTICC

Comedian Rob Van Vuuren and the much loved 5fm DJ Anele Mdoda will host the show once again whilst Shado Twala, Randall Abrahams and Ian Von Memerty return to ensure that South Africa really does have talent.

“We are excited to be broadcasting a second season of SA’s Got Talent. This competition is unlike any other – there are no limits - it calls for anyone who believes they have a gift, a specific talent. I look forward to what we will see this time around,” says Nivasha Hardev, SABC 2’s marketing manager.

The entry process for auditions to SA’s Got Talent is as follows:

Auditions will take place nationally
Auditions will take place from early morning
Registration closes at 3pm
All contestants must bring their own music, instruments or props
All music must be on CD format
All members MUST bring a copy of their ID

Contestants will be competiting for the top prize of R250,000 and a chance to emualte the success of first season winner Darren Rajbal, who beat 4 000 other hopefuls.

The show follows on the widely successful British and American versions of the Got Talent TV reality format, created and executively produced by showbiz mogul Simon Cowell.
