'Q: Soul Bossa Nostra' Celebrates Quincy Jones Legacy

Akon, Ludacris, Usher, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Talib Kweli, BeBe Winans, Three 6 Mafia, Jermaine Dupri, Scott Storch and Jamie Foxx are among the host of artists and producers paying tribute to Quincy Jones  on "Q: Soul Bossa Nostra." Featuring contemporary versions of songs from Jones' extensive catalog, the Interscope Records release is due May/June, 2010.

Akon's reinterpretation of the Brothers Johnson 1997 classic, "Strawberry Letter 23," has been tapped as the project's lead single, available March 24. Jones executive produced the upcoming album, which also features Hudson covering the 1995 single "You Put a Move on My Heart," Ludacris and Naturally 7 revamping the 1962 single "Soul Bossa Nova" as the project's title track and Usher, Robin Thicke, LL Cool J, Trey Songz, Tyrese and Tevin Campbell joining forces on the 1990  No. 1 R&B hit "The Secret Garden."

In a release announcing "Q: Soul Bossa Nostra," Jones stated, "Each artist picked a song that resonated with them for different reasons. I am honored that everyone wanted to be a part of this celebration of these songs. They all made them their own and knocked them out of the park."
